SHARON, VT — A Shelburne man was cited for excessive speed on Interstate 89 on May 26, 2026.
Benjamin J. Baker, 22, was observed traveling at 119 mph in a posted 65 mph zone on the southbound side of the interstate at mile marker 9.6 at approximately 11:14 a.m., according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers from the Royalton Barracks were conducting routine patrol when they observed the vehicle.
A motor vehicle stop was conducted and Baker was identified as the operator.
Baker was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date.
He was also issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint carrying a waiver amount of $793 and 2 points.
