Driver arrested on excessive speed charge in Ryegate

RYEGATE, VT — A New Hampshire man was arrested after state police clocked him driving more than twice the speed limit on Interstate 91.

Troopers conducting a routine patrol on I-91 northbound observed a vehicle traveling at 135 mph in a posted 65 mph zone near mile marker 112.8 at approximately 7:27 p.m. May 25, 2026.

A traffic stop was conducted and the operator was identified as Kyle Houseal, 34, of Bath, New Hampshire.

Houseal was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

He was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division on June 29, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. on a charge of excessive speed.
