Shots fired after collisions in Manlius

MANLIUS, NY — Members of the Town of Manlius Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a shots fired incident in the 100 block of Richmond Road West on March 29 at approximately 2:21 p.m.

A subsequent investigation revealed that a two-vehicle collision had occurred prior to this incident on Manlius Center Road at Clemons Road between the parties involved.

These same individuals then drove to the Richmond Road West location, where another motor vehicle collision occurred involving a pedestrian.

At this same scene, a dispute transpired with an involved party producing a handgun and firing a gunshot, which was believed to have struck a vehicle.

No one was injured by the gunshot.

The handgun was recovered on scene and all parties involved have been identified.

In consultation with the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, the case was presented to the Grand Jury, whose members decided not to press charges against anyone involved.

As a result of the first accident on Manlius Center Road, Casey Carberry, 56, of Chittenango, was issued citations for aggravated unlicensed operator 2nd degree, a misdemeanor, following too closely, a traffic infraction, and unlicensed operator, a traffic infraction.

Wendy Carberry, 56, of Chittenango, was issued a citation for facilitating aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.
