DUMMERSTON, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a 71-year-old man on a third-offense DUI charge Saturday afternoon on Interstate 91.
Stephen D. Goose, of Putney, was taken into custody at 5:11 p.m. on May 24, 2026, after troopers received a report of a vehicle operating erratically on Interstate 91 northbound near mile marker 16.4.
Troopers located the vehicle and identified Goose as the operator.
Police detected signs of impairment while interacting with Goose.
He was arrested without incident and released with a citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on May 26 at 12:30 p.m.
