POWNAL, VT — Vermont State Police cited two people for allegedly sheltering a runaway juvenile and providing false information to investigators.
Troopers were notified of a runaway juvenile at approximately 9:27 p.m. on May 22, 2026.
An investigation determined that Samantha J. George, 34, of Pownal, and Robert L. Young, 34, of Pownal, sheltered the runaway juvenile, according to police.
George and Young also provided false reports to investigating troopers, police said.
Both were cited for unlawful sheltering/aiding of a runaway child and false reports to law enforcement authorities.
George and Young were ordered to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Bennington Criminal Division on July 6, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
