POWNAL, VT — A North Adams, Massachusetts, man was cited for excessive speed on U.S. Route 7 on May 22, 2026.
State police observed a vehicle traveling northbound near Armstrong Farm at 83 mph in a 50 mph zone at approximately 6:46 p.m.
Troopers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Owen Joseph Hackett, 23, of North Adams, Massachusetts.
Hackett was cited for excessive speed and ordered to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Bennington Criminal Division on July 6, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
