Man arrested on protection order violation in Coldspring

COLDSPRING, NY — A Great Valley man was arrested after deputies found him at a location he was ordered to stay away from.

Kevin M. Stafford Jr., 34, of Great Valley, was taken into custody at 8:07 p.m. May 21 at an address on Old Route 17 in the Town of Coldspring.

Deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory located Stafford at an address he was advised to stay away from through an order of protection.

He was also with occupants he was ordered to stay away from through the same order of protection.

Stafford was transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

He was charged with two counts of criminal contempt in the first degree and aggravated family offense.

Stafford was arraigned in the Town of Ellicottville Court.

He was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail with bail set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

Stafford is due in the Town of Coldspring Court at a later date for further proceedings.
