BOSTON, MA — Two individuals have been arrested in connection with an April shooting in Roxbury that damaged two vehicles but resulted in no reported injuries.
District B-2 officers responded to the area of Abbotsford Street on the evening of April 15, 2026, following a ShotSpotter activation.
Investigators located multiple spent shell casings and observed ballistic damage to two parked vehicles at the scene.
No victims were reported at the scene.
Detectives from District B-2 processed the crime scene, and a vehicle parked in the area was towed for further examination.
In the days following the incident, B-2 Detectives conducted an investigation that included a review of footage from city-operated street cameras, private security cameras, and cameras at a residential building in the area.
The review allowed investigators to identify several individuals believed to have been involved in the incident.
Arrest warrants were obtained for several individuals.
On May 15, 2026, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force and Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit arrested Jahsan Mierez, 18, of Dorchester, without incident.
During a search of that residence, officers recovered a Glock handgun, a revolver, and what appeared to be an assault-style rifle, along with several rounds of ammunition.
Additional firearm charges are expected to be filed in connection with that recovery.
On May 20, 2026, officers arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male from Dorchester in the area of New Chardon Street in Boston.
Also on May 20, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, the Fugitive Unit, and the BPD SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a Dorchester residence connected to one of the outstanding suspects.
Officers made a peaceful entry and recovered clothing consistent with what that individual was observed wearing on the night of the shooting.
Mierez is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, attempted assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
The 16-year-old juvenile male from Dorchester is charged with delinquent to wit: unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, attempted assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
Detectives assigned to District B-2 are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
