DELHI, NY — A 33-year-old woman turned herself in to authorities on stalking and harassment charges.

Rebecca Chambers, of Otego, was arrested May 8 after an investigation into a harassment complaint in the Town of Meredith.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the complaint April 30.

During the investigation, deputies determined Chambers had engaged in a course of conduct that alarmed or annoyed another person and served no legitimate purpose, according to Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.

Chambers also continued to make contact with the victim after being repeatedly told to stop, DuMond said.

Chambers was charged with stalking in the fourth degree, a class B misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation.

She was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment Part Court and released on her own recognizance.
