Man arrested on firearms charges in Dorchester

DORCHESTER, MA — A Roxbury man was arrested following a shots fired incident that began in Roxbury and ended with his apprehension in Dorchester.

Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 67 Batchelder Street in Roxbury at about 9:45 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Upon arrival, officers located a spent shell casing at the intersection of Batchelder Street and Marshfield Street.

While on scene, officers received information that an unknown male operating a black sedan had fired the shots before fleeing up Marshfield Street towards Clifton Street.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle in the area of 14 E Cottage Street in Dorchester.

Officers identified the operator who was subsequently taken into custody.

Angel Fletcher, 33, of Roxbury, was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
