McDonald’s employee charged with food contamination in Southbridge

SOUTHBRIDGE, MA — A 22-year-old employee will face a felony charge in connection with alleged food contamination at a McDonald’s restaurant on East Main Street.

The Southbridge Police Department announced Friday that the woman, of Southbridge, will be charged with one felony count of selling or distributing food with a foreign substance.

The incident occurred on Thursday.

The employee’s name has not been released pending arraignment proceedings.

She is scheduled to be arraigned June 5 in Dudley District Court.

Police said the ownership and management of the Southbridge McDonald’s provided exceptional cooperation throughout the investigation.
