SOMERS, NY — New York State Police in Somers responded at about 11:30 a.m. May 14 to a report of a one-car motor vehicle collision near Warren Street and West Hill Drive in the town of Somers.
A preliminary investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Somers determined that a 2013 Honda operated by Gerard M. McKenna, 85, of Somers, was traveling eastbound on West Hill Drive toward Warren Street when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
McKenna, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
