Man arrested on child sex abuse charges in Homer

HOMER, NY — State Police arrested a Homer man May 14, 2026, following an investigation into a child sex abuse case.

Patrick Mott, 30, of Homer, was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

The rape charge, a class B felony, involves oral sexual contact with a person less than 11 years old.

The sexual abuse charge, a class D felony, involves sexual contact with an individual less than 11 years old.

Endangering the welfare of a child is a misdemeanor.

An investigation determined that on more than one occasion, Mott had inappropriate sexual contact with a child under the age of 11.

Following multiple sensitive interviews and consultation with the Cortland County District Attorney’s Office, Mott was arrested by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Homer.

Mott was processed at the Homer barracks and transported to the Cortland County Jail for centralized arraignment.
