RANDOLPH, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a local man on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle was found in the median of Interstate 89.
Troopers from the Royalton Barracks responded to a report of a vehicle in the median on Interstate 89 northbound near mile marker 28.4 at approximately 8:28 p.m. May 14, 2026.
Police identified the operator as Joseph Rich, 35, of Randolph.
Rich displayed signs of impairment during the interaction with troopers, according to police.
Following an investigation, Rich was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
He was transported to the Royalton State Police Barracks for processing.
Rich was issued a citation and released.
