MILO, NY — A Bronx man was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly switching seats during a traffic stop and refusing to cooperate with deputies.
Chase Fendrich, 28, of Bronx, was taken into custody at 1:20 a.m. on State Route 14A.
Yates County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle operating with a suspended registration.
Deputies observed Fendrich jump into the passenger seat of the vehicle upon being stopped.
Fendrich refused to identify himself and refused to exit the vehicle when deputies attempted to conduct an investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
He refused to take a chemical test.
Fendrich was charged with driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, operating with a suspended registration and operating with no insurance.
He was transported to Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
