ESSEX FELLS, NJ — A Baltimore man was arrested following a felony vehicle stop on May 7, 2026.
At approximately 5 p.m., Essex Fells Police dispatch alerted officers to a felony vehicle that had entered town and was wanted out of Florham Park in connection to a robbery that had occurred the prior day.
Detective Berger located the vehicle traveling northbound on Roseland Avenue.
The vehicle turned onto Bloomfield Avenue and Detective Berger conducted a felony motor vehicle stop with the assistance of Sgt. Murphy and officers from Caldwell, North Caldwell, Roseland and Verona police departments.
The driver, later identified as a 20-year-old man from Baltimore, provided Detective Berger with a fraudulent New Jersey driver’s license and fake name.
He was placed under arrest by Detective Berger and transported back to police headquarters.
While at police headquarters, it was learned that the driver had an active NCIC warrant out of the Stafford Sheriff’s Office in Stafford, Virginia with full extradition.
He was processed and charged with providing a false government document, hindering apprehension and being a fugitive from justice.
After being processed, he was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility pending a future court date.
