AVON, NY — A Mount Morris man faces felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 390.
Ronald Rossborough, 56, was arrested May 11 at approximately 10:36 p.m. after Investigator Shawn Whitford of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office stopped his vehicle for a traffic violation.
Whitford suspected drug activity in the vehicle and conducted an investigation.
The roadside investigation revealed Rossborough was in possession of crack cocaine, according to Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty.
Rossborough was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree and violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
He was transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and arraignment.
Town of West Sparta Justice Mahany remanded Rossborough to the custody of the sheriff without the possibility of bail due to him having two or more prior felony convictions.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Rossborough at the arraignment.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office appeared to represent the People.
Deputy Brock Allen of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division assisted with the investigation.
