ALBANY, NY — New York State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred on the New York State Thruway shortly after 6 p.m. on May 11, 2026.
The crash occurred on Interstate 90 at Exit 24 in Albany.
Roz Muhammad Said, 33, of Watervliet, was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Hino box truck when he struck a 2022 Honda sedan operated by an 18-year-old male from Latham, according to police.
The Honda became wedged beneath the box truck and both vehicles left the roadway before coming to a stop in a ditch.
Said was transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Honda was transported to Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.
A 35-year-old male passenger in the box truck was transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Response and recovery efforts shut down the east and westbound passing lanes for several hours.
Said was issued multiple tickets for vehicle and traffic law violations and is due in Albany City Court at a later date.
