Man arrested on public lewdness charge in Horseheads

HORSEHEADS, NY — The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Horseheads man on a public lewdness charge May 11.

Gerico M. Savain, 38, of Horseheads, was charged with public lewdness, a Class B misdemeanor, following an incident in the town of Horseheads.

Savain was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Horseheads Town Court at a later date.

In separate incidents, the sheriff’s office made three additional arrests on warrant charges.

James J. Johnston, 47, of Elmira, was arrested May 11 on three active arrest warrants for failure to appear on two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and one count of petit larceny, all issued by Southport Town Court on April 27.

Johnston was arraigned by Southport Town Court and released to New York State Police.

Brian J. Scriven, 27, of Elmira, was arrested May 12 on an active bench warrant for failure to appear on a charge of petit larceny, issued by Big Flats Town Court on May 5.

Scriven is currently being held at the Chemung County Jail on unrelated charges and will appear in Big Flats Town Court at a later date.

Michael L. Lyon, 42, of Erin, was arrested May 12 on an active bench warrant for failure to appear on a charge of petit larceny, issued by Big Flats Town Court on May 5.

Lyon is currently being held at the Chemung County Jail on unrelated charges and will appear in Big Flats Town Court at a later date.
