AUBURN, NY — Police have arrested a man in connection with two break-ins at the same residence on Miller Street.
Officers were first dispatched to the address on May 10 for a reported burglary.
The victim reported returning home to find someone had broken into the residence.
The victim discovered items inside the home that did not belong to them and that the suspect had left behind.
It was also discovered that the suspect ate food belonging to the victims while inside the residence.
No suspects were initially located.
Officers were dispatched to the same residence again on May 11 for another report of a possible burglary.
A neighbor reported seeing someone climbing through a window into the residence and then leaving on foot a short time later.
The neighbor provided a description of the suspect, who was later located by officers.
Police identified the suspect as Kevin J. Bouley, 35, of Auburn.
Items left inside the residence were used to link Bouley to both incidents.
For the May 10 incident, Bouley was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
For the May 11 incident, he was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.
Bouley was processed and transported to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
