MANCHESTER, NH — A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred last month.
Justin Salinas, of Manchester, was arrested by Massachusetts State Police and charged with Attempted First Degree Assault, Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Deadly Weapon.
The shooting happened on April 29 at approximately 10 p.m. at the intersection of Hanover Street and Beech Street.
Manchester Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and received multiple calls reporting gunshots in the area.
A building on Amherst Street was struck by gunfire, and a bullet entered an occupied room.
Witnesses told police a man had agreed to meet people to fight, and as he walked to the location, a vehicle pulled in front of him and two people got out and started shooting.
The man ran away and was not hit.
Police identified Salinas as one of the suspects, and a warrant was recently issued for his arrest.
Salinas is being held in Massachusetts awaiting extradition.
A second suspect, Henry Aponte, 21, is wanted in connection with the shooting.
Aponte faces charges of Attempted First Degree Assault and Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon.
