Bicyclist struck in Lewiston

LEWISTON, ME — Police arrested a Portland man after he allegedly drove onto a sidewalk and intentionally struck a bicyclist following an altercation.

Lewiston Police responded to 162 Bartlett St. at approximately 1 p.m. yesterday for a report of an accident involving a bicyclist.

Officers determined the incident was intentional after speaking with witnesses and reviewing evidence.

Gage Gagne, 29, of Portland, was operating a 1999 silver Honda Accord when he allegedly drove over the curb and struck the victim on the sidewalk.

The 35-year-old victim, whose identity is not being released, sustained minor injuries.

Gagne was charged with operating under the influence, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and violation of conditions of release.

Additional charges are expected.
