Woman arrested on fraud charges in Cranston

CRANSTON, RI — A Providence woman faces multiple fraud-related charges following a State Police investigation.

Ashley Moran, 27, of Providence, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses, larceny under $1,500 and access to a computer for fraudulent purpose.

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation conducted by the Rhode Island State Police Scituate Barracks.

Moran was located by the Cranston Police Department.

She was transported to State Police headquarters, where she was processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace.

Moran was released with a future Sixth District Court arraignment date.

In a separate incident, troopers arrested Acssana Galvao, 27, of Boston, Massachusetts, at 9:15 a.m. on a charge of reckless driving and eluding law enforcement in a high-speed pursuit, first offense.

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation, and Galvao was located by the Pawtucket Police Department.

Galvao was released on misdemeanor bail at Miriam Hospital with a future Third District Court arraignment date.
