SHAFTSBURY, VT — Two people sustained suspected minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash on US Route 7 on May 9, 2026.
Vermont State Police troopers were notified of the crash at approximately 12:24 p.m. near mile marker 20.
An investigation revealed that Barrett Weiss, 33, of Pittsford, NY, was traveling north on US Route 7 when he hydroplaned and entered the southbound lane of travel.
Weiss’ 2023 Tesla Model 3 collided with a 2023 Ford truck being operated by Mary O’Connor, 47, of Londonderry, NY.
Both operators were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Both Weiss and O’Connor received suspected minor injuries and were transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
Roads were wet and it was raining at the time of the incident.
The Vermont State Police was assisted by the Shaftsbury Fire Department, Arlington Rescue, and Bennington Rescue.
