PROVIDENCE, RI — A North Providence man was arrested on an active bench warrant following a motor vehicle accident on Route 95.
Tyler Mclewin, 30, of North Providence, was taken into custody at 8:18 a.m. on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on an original charge of domestic violence originating from the Cranston Police Department.
Mclewin was transported to the Lincoln Barracks where he was processed and then transported to Providence Superior Court.
In a separate incident, Franklin Johnson, 40, of North Providence, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Thurbers Avenue in Providence.
Johnson was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, first offense.
He was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
Johnson was then transported to the ACI Men’s Intake Center where he is being held as a bail violator pending arraignment in Sixth Division District Court.
