DERBY, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a Newport Center man following a fight at Walmart on May 6, 2026.
Police received a call at approximately 4:29 p.m. from a Walmart employee reporting a fight inside the store.
An investigation revealed that Kameron Lill, 23, of Newport Center, caused injury to Caydon Hamel, 22, of Newport City.
Lill fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
He was located and taken into custody a few hours later.
Lill was transported to the Derby Barracks for processing.
He was charged with simple assault.
