GENESEO, NY — A Rochester woman faces felony charges after being arrested on outstanding warrants and allegedly bringing fentanyl into the Livingston County Jail.
Robyn Hitchcock, 41, of Rochester, was arrested May 5 by the Irondequoit Police Department in the Town of Irondequoit and transported to Livingston County.
Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty said Hitchcock was wanted on a warrant for felony bail jumping in the second degree after she failed to appear at a scheduled court appearance in Groveland Town Court on Jan. 3, 2023.
Hitchcock had been scheduled to answer charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third and fifth degrees, both felonies.
Town of Groveland Justice Love issued warrants for Hitchcock’s arrest in January 2023 after her whereabouts became unknown.
After Hitchcock was taken into custody and transported to the Livingston County Jail on May 5, booking deputies located a small wax bag hidden under her clothing that contained a white powdery substance, according to Dougherty.
Sheriff’s investigators tested the substance, which tested positive for fentanyl.
Hitchcock was additionally charged with felony promoting prison contraband in the first degree and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
She was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Conesus Justice Coyne.
The District Attorney’s Office recommended bail be set at $5,000 cash or $25,000 bond.
Justice Coyne remanded Hitchcock to the custody of the sheriff on $750 cash bail or $1,500 partially secured bond for the bail jumping charge and set nominal bail on the original felony drug charges and the additional charges for promoting prison contraband.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Hitchcock at the arraignment.
