WATERVLIET, NY — A Schenectady man has been arrested in connection with a burglary and larceny at a liquor store.
Matthew J. Hoffmann, 35, of Schenectady, entered Uptown Wine and Spirits Liquor Store on Sunday and illegally accessed a back room, where he stole a wristwatch and cash before fleeing, according to the Watervliet Police Department.
Hoffmann was located at Crossgates Mall on Tuesday by the Guilderland Police Department, where he was found to be wearing the stolen watch.
After being processed by Guilderland Police, Hoffmann was turned over to Watervliet Police for further investigation and processing.
Hoffmann has been charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony, and burglary in the third degree, a class D felony.
He was released on an appearance ticket.
