BALDWINSVILLE, NY — New York State Police have concluded their investigation into a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in December on Downer Street.

On Dec. 7 at approximately 5:50 a.m., State Police responded to Downer Street for a report of a woman lying in the roadway.

Responding patrols located the victim in the eastbound lane of travel.

She was deceased and had injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.

The reporting party was a passerby who did not witness the incident.

Investigators determined the victim had been walking from a nearby Dunkin Donuts at approximately 5:39 a.m.

Surveillance video and witness interviews indicate it would have taken approximately two minutes for her to walk from that location to where she was found.

The investigation further determined the victim was lying in the roadway prior to being struck.

The investigation did not indicate that she had been dragged a significant distance.

The victim was identified as Tammy Langford-Michels, 53, of Baldwinsville.

With assistance from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and through the review of surveillance video, State Police identified the vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident.

The operator was identified as Cameron M. Parry, 28, of Auburn.

Investigators located and interviewed the operator, who stated he was unaware at the time that a pedestrian had been struck.

Following a thorough investigation and consultation with the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, the investigation did not establish a basis for criminal charges under New York State law.
