PEN ARGYL, PA — A woman was arrested on drug-related DUI charges following a traffic stop on East Pennsylvania Avenue.
Sarah Ann Ziegenfuss, 45, of Pennsylvania, was stopped at approximately 9:07 p.m. Feb. 6, 2026, in the area of East Pennsylvania Avenue and Westbrook Avenue after an officer on patrol observed a traffic violation.
The officer observed indicators of impairment and requested Ziegenfuss perform field sobriety exercises.
After observing additional signs of impairment, the officer placed Ziegenfuss under arrest for DUI.
A Drug Recognition Expert from North Catasauqua Police conducted a drug influence evaluation and determined Ziegenfuss was impaired.
Ziegenfuss agreed to submit to a chemical test.
Laboratory results indicate Ziegenfuss had methamphetamine, amphetamine, fentanyl and related metabolites in her system at the time of the stop.
Ziegenfuss was charged with DUI controlled substance Schedule II/III second offense, DUI controlled substance metabolite second offense, DUI controlled substance general impairment second offense and various traffic offenses.
Charges were filed through District Court.
