ALBANY, NY — Albany detectives have made an arrest in connection with two separate burglary investigations.
Markeis Val, 29, of Albany was arrested Tuesday following investigations by detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit.
On Sunday around 11:25 p.m., Val threw a rock through the window of DeFazio’s Pizza, located at 75 Livingston Avenue causing the glass to shatter.
He then entered the business through the broken window and stole a cash drawer.
Additionally, on Monday around 1 a.m., Val threw a rock through the window of Broadway Liquor, located at 795 Broadway causing it to shatter, and then entered the business.
While inside, he stole multiple bottles of liquor before fleeing.
Val has been charged with one count of Burglary 3rd and one count of Criminal Mischief 3rd for the May 3 incident.
He has also been charged with one count of Burglary 3rd and one count of Criminal Mischief 2nd for the May 4 incident.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
