Dover man arrested on sexual assault charges in Dover

DOVER, NH — A Dover man has been arrested following a sexual assault investigation involving a minor, police announced May 6.

Gonzalo Cedeno Fernandez, 43, of Dover, was arrested after detectives obtained a warrant charging him with two counts of felonious sexual assault, ten counts of possession of child sexual abuse images and one count of possession of a controlled drug, all felony offenses.

The investigation began after a 15-year-old juvenile reported meeting an adult male online through social media and later agreeing to meet in person for sexual contact.

Through the course of the investigation, that individual was identified as Cedeno Fernandez.

Dover Police detectives executed a search warrant at Cedeno Fernandez’s residence, where several electronic devices were seized as part of the investigation.

During the search, detectives also located and seized methamphetamine.

A forensic analysis of the seized electronic devices revealed the presence of child sexual abuse images, resulting in the additional ten felony charges.

Investigators also determined that Cedeno Fernandez is a state-licensed clinical social worker in New Hampshire.

In accordance with state law, Cedeno Fernandez was not eligible for bail and is being held at the Strafford County House of Corrections.

He is scheduled to be arraigned May 7 in the 7th Circuit Court – District Division – Dover.
