Man shot in Albany, NY

ALBANY, NY — Police are investigating an early morning shooting that occurred in the area of 1475 Washington Avenue.

On Monday, May 4, 2026 around 4:50 a.m., staff from St. Peter’s Hospital notified police that a male had entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound.

Officers responded to St. Peter’s Hospital where they located a 21-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his thigh.

Further investigation determined that the shooting incident occurred in the area of 1475 Washington Avenue.

The victim was later transferred to Albany Medical Center Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The investigation is active and ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Albany Police Detective Division at (518) 462-8039.
