WILLIMANTIC, CT — The Willimantic Police Department executed a narcotics-related search and seizure warrant at a residence on Keating Street on April 23, 2026.
During the execution of the warrant at approximately 4:30 p.m., K9 Drogo alerted to the presence of narcotics in multiple locations within the residence.
Officers located and seized quantities of painkillers and cocaine, U.S. currency identified as drug proceeds, drug cutting agents, two digital scales and various drug manufacturing and packaging materials consistent with narcotics distribution activity.
Officers also seized a stolen 9mm Kel Tec firearm, a loaded magazine containing seven 9mm bullets and a full box of 9mm rounds of ammunition.
Alexander Santiago, 34, of Willimantic, was arrested and charged with sale of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, operation of drug factory, sale of more than one-half ounce of cocaine, possession of a stolen firearm, criminal possession of firearm/ammunition/defense weapon as a convicted felon, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver and two counts of risk of injury to a child.
Santiago was held on a police-set $150,000 cash or surety bond.
Officers discovered that Santiago also had an active re-arrest warrant.
Santiago was also charged with violation of probation and held on an additional court-set $35,000 cash or surety bond.
