SOUTHEAST, NY — A woman was arrested on felony DWI charges following a property damage crash on Deans Corners Road on April 24, 2026.
New York State Police in Brewster were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:55 p.m. by Putnam County 911.
The operator was identified as Briana Giuliano, 37, of North Salem.
Police said Giuliano exhibited signs of intoxication at the scene.
She failed standardized field sobriety tests, according to police.
Investigation determined a 7-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Giuliano was taken into custody and transported to SP Brewster for processing.
She provided a breath sample that resulted in a blood alcohol concentration of 0.20%, police said.
The child was released to a sober third party.
Giuliano was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a class E felony under Leandra’s Law.
She was also charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.
Additional vehicle and traffic law violations were issued.
Giuliano was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southeast Court on May 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
