STOWE, VT — Firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire on the front porch of Burt’s Place on Saturday evening.

Stowe Fire Rescue responded to the restaurant at 2160 Mountain Road at approximately 7:55 p.m. on April 26.

Upon arrival, crews found a small fire on the exterior front porch area.

Employees had already deployed a fire extinguisher, slowing the fire’s growth before firefighters arrived.

Personnel arrived on scene within six minutes of dispatch and completed extinguishment of the fire.

Crews conducted a thorough check to ensure the fire had not spread beyond the porch area.

The fire was contained to the exterior front porch with no extension into the building.

The fire is believed to have been caused by the improper disposal of smoking materials.
