SALAMANCA, NY — A woman was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Armstrong Street.
Joelle E. Cooper, 38, of Salamanca, was taken into custody by deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory at 10:24 p.m. April 22.
Cooper was stopped for multiple vehicle and traffic law infractions.
Following an investigation, K9 Cash was deployed for a vehicle sniff and positively indicated to being in the odor of narcotics.
A vehicle search found Cooper to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl, packaging material and a pipe with residue.
Cooper was transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Cooper was processed and released on an appearance ticket and multiple uniform traffic tickets for criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree, resisting arrest, obstruction 2nd degree, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and loud exhaust.
Cooper is due in Salamanca City Court at a later date.
