Juvenile cited for DUI after crash in Berlin

BERLIN, VT — A 17-year-old from Barre was cited for driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89.

The Vermont State Police responded to the crash at 12:42 p.m. April 24, 2026, at mile marker 49 northbound.

Investigation determined the 2025 Ford F-350 crossed over the fog line before leaving the roadway and crashing.

The juvenile operator, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center.

The vehicle sustained substantial damage.

Further investigation determined the juvenile was operating the vehicle while under the influence.

The juvenile was issued a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court – Family Division.

Weather at the time was clear with dry pavement.
