Man arrested for vehicle theft in Secaucus

SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus police have arrested a man in connection with a vehicle theft from a hotel parking lot.

Police responded to the Extended Stay Hotel at 1 Meadowlands Parkway on April 11 at 12:19 a.m. after a guest reported their 2014 Nissan N20 was stolen from the parking lot.

The vehicle was recovered by Wallington police on Main Avenue at 8:24 a.m. the same day.

Secaucus police detectives responded to Wallington and conducted a follow-up investigation.

Detectives identified Jonnathan Montoya, 36, of Wallington, as the suspect involved in the stolen vehicle.

On April 23, detectives arrested Montoya at his residence in Wallington.

Montoya is charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

He was lodged in the Hudson County Jail.
