NEW KENSINGTON, PA — Law enforcement agencies executed 22 arrest and bench warrants related to narcotics during a coordinated operation on April 21, 2026.
The Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General led “Operation Northern Sweep” with assistance from the New Kensington Police Department, the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force, and the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives provided additional support.
The operation targeted narcotics possession, sales and distribution across multiple municipalities in northern Westmoreland and Allegheny counties.
Law enforcement conducted saturation patrols in targeted jurisdictions to address ongoing narcotics trafficking and distribution.
Multiple individuals were taken into custody and remanded to the Westmoreland, Allegheny and Indiana county prisons on outstanding warrants.
Authorities seized quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia during the operation.
