Man arrested in Schenectady shooting

SCHENECTADY, NY — A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred April 16, 2026, in the area of Albany Street and Hulett Street.

Schenectady Police Detectives, with assistance from the Schenectady County Street Crimes Task Force, arrested Josiah J. McGrath, of Schenectady, on April 20, 2026.

McGrath was charged with attempted murder, a class A felony; criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, a class B felony; assault in the first degree, a class B felony; and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony.
