Man arrested on trespassing charge in Bartonsville

BARTONSVILLE, PA — A Pennsylvania man was arrested after police found him hiding in a shed on private property April 18.

Officers with the Pocono Township Police Department were dispatched to an address on Laurel Lake Road at 8:48 p.m. for a report of a male trespassing on the property and inside the caller’s shed.

Officers arrived on scene and approached the shed before making contact with Jonathan Acierno, 38, of Pennsylvania, who was hiding behind a shelf in the shed when he observed police.

Officers gave Acierno several commands to exit the shed and he did not comply.

While attempting to take Acierno into custody, he began to resist arrest and did not comply with commands.

After a brief struggle, Acierno was taken into custody and transported to Monroe County Correctional Facility without further incident.

Acierno was charged with resisting arrest or other law enforcement, criminal trespass-defiant trespasser and public drunkenness.
