PROVIDENCE, RI — A man was shot in the abdomen outside a seafood restaurant Thursday night following a verbal altercation, according to Providence Police.
Officers responded to 58 DePasquale Avenue at approximately 8:50 p.m. April 16, 2026.
Police found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and provided immediate medical aid.
The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition.
The suspect fled the area on foot after the shooting.
Providence Police are actively seeking Nyzaiah Wooten, 23, of Providence, and pursuing an arrest warrant on felony assault and firearms charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
