Bicyclist struck at intersection in Mechanicsburg

MECHANICSBURG, PA — A 9-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Marble and South Arch streets April 16, 2026.

Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:28 a.m.

The juvenile was traveling south on South Arch Street on their way to school when they proceeded into the intersection and were struck by a vehicle traveling east on East Marble Street.

The child suffered injuries from the impact and was evaluated by EMS on scene.

The juvenile was transported to the hospital for further evaluation of injuries believed to be minor in nature.

The bicyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The juvenile did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection, which is required for southbound traffic on South Arch Street.

The vehicle traveling eastbound on East Marble Street did not have a stop sign for their direction of travel.

Penn State Health EMS assisted police at the scene.
