ALBANY, NY — Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Wednesday evening in the area of North Lake Avenue and First Street.
Around 5:30 p.m., staff from Albany Medical Center Hospital notified police that a 16-year-old female entered the emergency room with a stab wound to her hand.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim was walking in the area of North Lake Avenue and First Street when two juveniles exited a vehicle and approached her.
One juvenile suspect held the victim down while another punched her in the face.
During the incident, the victim was slashed in the hand by a knife, causing a laceration.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The victim and the suspect that stabbed her are known to each other.
