LUZERNE, PA — A woman was cited for drug paraphernalia possession and a traffic violation after police stopped her Wednesday night for running a stop sign while riding an e-bike.
The incident occurred at 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of Kelly and Parry/Main streets in Luzerne Borough.
Police stopped the woman after she failed to stop at the stop sign.
The woman attempted to hide and then discarded an item used to snort methamphetamine in front of the officer, according to the Luzerne Borough Police Department.
She was also found to be in possession of a container with methamphetamine residue.
The woman, who does not reside in Luzerne and was passing through at the time, will face drug paraphernalia charges as well as a stop sign violation.
Charges will follow via mail.
Police provided the woman with addiction outreach information and encouraged her to seek help.
