WILTON, NY — A 64-year-old woman was arrested Friday on charges she used forged U.S. Treasury bonds to fraudulently obtain more than $60,000 from a credit union.

Sharon A. Cassant, of Gansevoort, faces one count of grand larceny in the 2nd degree and four counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the 1st degree, all class C felonies.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office received a fraud complaint on April 2 regarding an incident at Broadview Federal Credit Union at 7 Lowe’s Drive.

Cassant is accused of presenting forged U.S. Treasury bonds to the credit union on March 6, 2026, and having a check for $35,000 drawn against them.

She allegedly had another check for $28,000 drawn against the bonds on March 9, 2026, and withdrew $10,000 in cash at the same time.

Cassant was arraigned before the Honorable David R. Towne in Wilton Town Court and released to pretrial services pending further proceedings.
