BALLSTON, NY — A Malta man was arrested Thursday on charges stemming from an incident in November that allegedly involved fleeing from deputies and entering a dwelling unlawfully.
Dennis M. Wohlleber, 36, of Malta, was arrested on an arrest warrant issued by Ballston Town Court charging him with burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree and unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree, both class A misdemeanors.
The charges stem from an incident that reportedly occurred on Nov. 20, 2025, wherein Wohlleber is accused of fleeing a marked Sheriff’s patrol that had been attempting to stop his vehicle on Middleline Road in the town of Ballston by engaging in reckless driving.
Wohlleber allegedly interfered with deputies’ efforts to arrest him by fleeing on foot into the woods after abandoning his vehicle.
He is also charged with knowingly entering and remaining unlawfully in a dwelling on Randall Road with intent to commit a crime therein while fleeing from deputies.
Wohlleber was also cited for numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law offenses from the vehicle pursuit.
He was arraigned before the Honorable Brandi Burns in the Ballston Town Court and returned to the Schenectady County Jail where he is being held on separate charges pending further proceedings in that court.
