Man arrested on drug charge in Cortlandville

CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A 46-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning after a traffic stop revealed he was in possession of a controlled substance, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Christopher M. Knickerbocker, of Locke, was stopped at approximately 2:33 a.m. on State Route 11 for numerous vehicle and traffic law violations.

During the traffic stop, officers discovered Knickerbocker was in possession of a controlled substance.

He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

Knickerbocker also faces infractions for operating with improper plates, unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed operation and no or inadequate exhaust.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building for processing.

Knickerbocker was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court on April 27 at 1:00 p.m. for arraignment.
