Woman arrested on drug charges in Lloyd

LLOYD, NY — A Kingston woman was arrested April 9 after allegedly striking a school bus and fleeing the scene on Tilson Avenue.

Christel Wood, 41, of Kingston, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree, criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd degree and leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident.

Police said the vehicle Wood was operating struck a school bus that was stopped at a stop sign on Tilson Avenue before fleeing the scene.

Wood, who has 22 prior arrests, was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Town of Lloyd Court April 30, 2026.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police assisted Lloyd Police.

In other arrests, David A. Bickford, 22, of Hephzibah, Georgia, was arrested April 8 and charged with driving while intoxicated after the vehicle he was operating was stopped for traffic violations on Route 9W in Highland.

Bickford was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Town of Lloyd Court May 20, 2026.

Ivan M. Rodriquez, 33, of Newburgh, was arrested April 5 on a bench warrant for driving while intoxicated from the New York State Police.

Rodriquez was turned over to the New York State Police on the warrant.

Terry J. Monroe Sr., 67, of Milton, was arrested April 8 on an arrest warrant for petit larceny.

Monroe, who has had 57 prior arrests, is accused of stealing approximately $45 in merchandise from the Stewart’s Shop in Highland.

Monroe was transported to the Ulster County Jail to await arraignment in the Ulster County Centralized Parts Court.

Nicholas T. Rozzi, 33, of Highland, was arrested April 5 on a bench warrant for driving while intoxicated from the New York State Police.

Rozzi was turned over to the New York State Police on the warrant.
